Yeah, it seems like a pretty heavy lift to move enough voters to Cuomo at this point. But I guess we will know if it worked in a few hours. ---

I wouldn’t be surprised if they secretly want Mamdani to win and that’s why the creeps are coming out to endorse Cuomo. These guys know they’re not popular in NYC and their endorsements won’t do squat except drive up traffic for Mamdani. But there’s nothing quiet like having a high-profile leftist/communist/brown person to pound on for the next two to four years. If they can weaken the progressive left by demonizing AOC’s hand-chosen guy daily for the foreseeable future, they’re able to kneecap their most dangerous populist opponents heading into the next two election cycles. Trump may be stupid as shit on a cracker, but the people around him know a thing or two about full-contact electoral politics. ---

Well, it’s going to be a Democrat either way, right? It’s not like Andrew Cuomo is a Republican. I agree with the idea that from the MAGA perspective having a polarizing progressive minority as the mayor of NYC to rail against heading into the midterms is better politically than the milquetoast Cuomo. Look how much traction they get out of AOC, and she’s just a House member. ---

This is Bill Maher’s position on Mamdani – that he will be damaging to the Democratic Party at a national level. Not everyone agrees. They had a 20 year run after not having candidates to speak of. So stuck with Sliwa for a bit is only fair. ---

I’m not getting a server error. It looks good for Mamdani. 🙂 ETA: With 36% of the vote in, it’s Mamdani with 51.5%, Cuomo with 39.7% and Silwa with 8.0%. ---
