# NYS Liquor: Anyone know the current status of the micro-distillery bill?

New York State bill S.6302 provides for the operation of micro-distilleries that use NYS-grown produce (grapes, apples, etc.) to create the liquor. Does anyone know what the current status of this bill is? I heard a bit of hoopla about it earlier in the fall, but nothing since.

The last update on [S06302](http://assembly.state.ny.us/leg/?bn=S06302) is that passed the Senate, was referred to the Assembly, and referred to Economic Development on 6/8/2004. The Assembly counterpart, [A10309](http://assembly.state.ny.us/leg/?bn=A10309) hasn’t made it out of Economic Development.

I did see that … but what does that mean? It’s been there for 6 months … can we expect it to EVER get out of Economic Development?
