I’m done sending emails telling them that they missed intinction. Might not be the most common word in the world, but it feels more common than many others that are accepted.
Yeah, I tried that today, too, and was surprised it wasn’t accepted. Sheldon would be outraged.
If he’s going to accept tutti, he should also accept continuo. They both seem like equally obscure music terms to me.
Not the Spelling Bee but Letter Boxed, which (to my amusement) accepted “nimrod” today.
Got a hit on a word today that surprised me. Fanfic isn’t a word I think of as being common, but maybe it has worked its way into the common vocabulary.
Or, just Sam’s vocabulary.
Didn’t take ‘luff’ todat, which surprised me due to it being a hoity toity sailing term.
Yeah, it never takes it, but I always try it anyway.
Yeah, I’ve tried it a couple of times. Didn’t see it today.
That one has shown up before and yes, I was somewhat surprised to find it accepted.
Gotta report a success: two QBs in a row without using the hints!
This is kind of spoilery about today’s puzzle, although it doesn’t reveal any words: two of the pangrams are variant spellings of each other.
That’s odd. I didn’t try BEVELLING, perhaps because I tried LIBELLING and it wasn’t accepted, although LIBELING was. It would be nice if they would be a little more consistent.
Apparently, whenever cardio is played, there is also cardioid. Another word I can never seem to remember.
That’s because the two words use the exact same set of letters. There’s lots of these around. Other examples:
- around → runaround
- head → ahead, deadhead, deadheaded, headed
Well, yeah, that’s why included cardio. I’ve never seen the word cardioid used in the wild which is why I have a hard time remembering it.
Today’s (4/7) spelling bee is not accepting either NUTRIA or CURIA.
It accepted UNITARIAN but not TRINITARIAN even though both have uncapitalized versions.
11 April: Thank heavens for Indian food, is all I can say. It accepted both TIKKA and RAITA.
A few days ago, it didn’t accept “raping”, which I thought was weird. Maybe because it’s triggering?
