INCIPIT.
I thought “pancit” might be allowed by now.
I learned ACTINIC from Terry, but apparently Sam didn’t.
Today (10/26) it didn’t like BULLHEAD. Interesting, considering the pangram.
Or BALDHEADED.
Noted icthyophobe Sam also leaving out BLUEHEAD.
I guess Sam isn’t into WARGAMING, which would be another pangram.
Yep.
Also: RIMING and GRIMING (not that I’d expect anyone to be “into” those).
I was surprised about RIMING.
No RAGMAN.
Dammit. Going to Standard Time, the new puzzle will be delayed an hour. Yet another reason to ditch DST.
Why no PLAYA? Evidently he’s never been to Burning Man.
Clearly a PLAYA hater.
You’d think if ARHAT was fine (not today but in general), ATMAN would be too. But no.
Also no: NAPHTHA. And if you really want to go obscure: PANTON.
When did OPAH stop being allowed? I definitely remember missing that word a lot in the past. No love for PANTO either.
I had a hard time with yesterday’s game; I just barely made it to genius and never got the pangram. I hate it when that happens. Especially when, as is usually the case, the words I didn’t get aren’t particularly obscure or unusual, they just didn’t occur to me. One of yesterday’s was LAPTOP, which I have frequently forgotten to try.
I think yesterday the word count was 73, which is on the high side. Fortunately, it was a Sunday, but still, that’s a lot of words.
OPAH was allowed 17 times, right up to October, 2023. It’s been disallowed 7 times since. Ours is to wonder why.
I didn’t get the pangram, either. When I got to genius and found out I was still 14 words short of Queen Bee, I noped out. 73 words is too much of a slog.
Yeah, especially with no -tion, -ing, etc. 73 unrelated words, ugh.
Same, same, and same.
