NYT Spelling Bee drives me crazy

I had two of those recently: adit was one of them. A perfectly good word meaning a horizontal tunnel into a mine.

What’s wrong with DAVIT?

Nothing. I type it in as a protest every time. But…one day!

Ugh, I can’t get blurring to work on my phone.

Is this the first time unmount is allowed?

It was disallowed 7 times and has now been accepted in the last 4 occurrences.

Wow. I must have missed it a bunch. As a sometime Linux user, it annoyed me when it wasn’t accepted.

As a Linux user, you should be spelling it UMOUNT

Haha! Definitely.

Today’s went pretty well and had two pangrams that I saw.

Today had a lot of fun words.

Blurring is an option in the edit window menu, inside the gear icon all the way to the right.

I had all kinds of trouble today but just got Genius with about an hour to spare.

If you’re talking about the one with an L in the middle, man did I struggle with that, but did get there.

No. I was taking about what’s now yesterday.

Today’s with the middle L was super easy for me. I got to Genius in less than twenty minutes and stopped working on it. I have a busy day so I may not try for QB.

Is ‘bole’ really obscure? It seems like an even more ordinary word that most of the words I like to complain about.

Seriously? I just got to Genius, because apparently OXLIKE is a word. I mean, you can add that suffix to almost any word and get something that’s at least sort of a word.

So you wind up putting -like on the end of everything, for instance booklike and lobelike etc.. It’s akin to when CALLABLE shows up and you have to try putting -able on a bunch of words. I came up short by one word today: LOOKBOOK. This is the twentieth time it’s occurred but only the sixth time it’s been allowed. Well, LOOKIE, LOOKIE at that.

LOOKBOOK?! Never even occurred to me to try that. Sounds like a second-tier social media site.

I agree with all these comments.
