NYT Spelling Bee drives me crazy

And that’s the only U word.

In case anyone’s wanting to know my status, I’m down to only 13 points to go. That’s probably 2 or 3 words, maybe 4. And no more pangrams.

I’ve decided that it’s best for my frustration level to just get to Genius and maybe a little past if I easily see a couple other words just hanging there, even if I don’t get the pangram. Never using hints.

Today had a humdinger of an obviously not allowed word possiblity.

I can usually get to Genius on my own and fairly quickly but often need hints for the last two or three words. I’m something of a completist, so I feel it necessary to get every last word.

Samesies.

…and there’s Sunday’s puzzle in a nutshell

Given all the times it appears in beauty and health food commercials I was surprised that ANTIAGING wasn’t accepted. Maybe it properly has a hyphen.

And, once again, there are very few UN words. Weird.

I’m surprised unagi isn’t allowed, given his food fetish.

I had to go look, of course. The only other time it was a possible word, back in 2018, it was accepted. Maybe Sam just forgot.

He’s getting old, must be the memory.

What was it @hajario ? The only one I saw was UNCIAL

And for today, maybe Sam isn’t into investments and annuities since ANNUITANT isn’t accepted

You’re on the wrong track. It was a vulgar word.

Oh, sure, I forgot! That was the very first word I saw. I had to keep blocking it and stopping myself from putting it in. Looks like my blocking it was ultimately successful.

On the off-chance that anyone’s interested, I didn’t get those last two words without going to hints. The same today; needed hints to get the last two words.

That’s often true for me.

Once again, no ADIT.

Kinda disappointed that BUTTHURT wasn’t accepted.

Haha! I tried it, too, but figured it was probably not going to work.

And how do you both feel about that?

Haha! I bit butthurt, to be honest.

How come THRU isn’t allowed? Lite, nite, gonna, wanna, all kinds of casual alternatives. (Maybe not all of those, not positive)

That was the easiest trip to Genius for me in a while but reading over my word list gave me a headache. English is weird.
