Hmm 1. Happy Birthday in advance; since I probably will go to bed soon. 2. Geezerhood beats the alternative: not-here-hood 😃 3. Since from your user name I persume you are female; how about “Geezette”? 4. Think of how freeing it is to be a mature adult. You can say whatever you want and when people gasp at your candor you can look them squarely in the eye and say “get off my lawn!” ---

I’ll be 64 in just under 4 hours PST. Year behind you- for some reason, 65 doesn’t get me (60 sure did!) possibly because I don’t plan to retire until 70. or maybe 67. Get your DEXA scan. Eat tasty things. Enjoy your SD 🙂 Laugh at as much as you can- listen to your heartsong. Oh- and declutter, grin again. ---

What the heck is a DEXA scan? Is that something they only tell you about at the age 60 initiation ceremony? ---

I just turned 63. I work on the principle that a geezer is anyone more than 10 years older than my current age (whatever that currently happens to be). So I’m not a geezer, and neither are you. ---

You Yanks are funny, with the way “geezer” automatically connotes for you, an aged person 😉 . In British English, the word means first and foremost, an adult male person – with perhaps slight overtones of being not particularly young, and not “cutting-edge”. ---

But the \*reason \*you’re behind the times is because you’re OLD. It is possible to be a younger (i.e. 40 yo) geezer; that’d be somebody with an elderly attitude before his/her time. Though we’d probably use “fogey” to describe that. Wrapping up what I \*think \*it all means. Geezers are primarily old in age and probably old in attitude as well. Fogeys are primarily old in attitude and probably old in age as well. ---

Geezerhood is for guys. We ladies are always lovely looking, [for our age]. I stopped counting at 60, but getting over the arrival of my Medicare card required a lot of chocolate. BTW, I don’t care if you are on my lawn, as long as you’re either pulling weeds or raking leaves. I’m too old for that nonsense. 🙂 ---
