# Oahu and Kauai cheap adventure tips

If you find yourself on Oahu and don’t feel like listening to ear-bursting noise in a club, you might consider [going shark fishing at night.](http://www.sportfishhawaii.com/sharkfishing.htm)

Yeah, it’s $125, but you spend three hours on the boat, drinking whatever you brought along, all the while looking at the lights of Waikiki while waiting for Mr. Toothy to give your rod a yank.

Pun unintended, but I’d wished I’d thought of it. Thanks for correction of “mokes.” It’s been awhile since we lived there, so I’m not up on my spellings. 🙂

Sacrilege! Eggs 'n Things was our Breakfast Mecca when we lived there and still find it great on visits. How about he tries both?

Actually, we’ve never heard of Wailana Coffee House. Is it new? We’ll keep it in mind for our next trip.

Say, AudreyK: Slight hijack, but I was looking at the Eggs 'n Things entry in the “Hawaii’s Best Restaurants” link you gave, and I see it says, “Back literally from the ashes of a fire a couple of years back.” The last time we were there was two years ago, April and May 2005. Was there a big fire since then?
