Success? They don’t have the presidency or the Senate. They have a narrow house edge. They do however filbusrter the Senate in a new and un-American way. ---

So why should Obama not advance the tax deal at this point? He’s committed now. It’s not like any supporters who are angry at him right now will suddenly forgive him if it falls through, so why should he bother? ---

Obama isn’t going to pull the deal, that doesn’t mean that the Democrats in congress will go along. ---
