My best friend voted for Obama. Six months later he’s obsessed with this Obama Deception bullshit. We’ve been friends for over 20 years but this has really driven a wedge between us. It’s not dissent, it’s not skepticism, it’s not disagreement; it’s insanity. I’ve had other friends go down this path before. It’s a symptom of other angers and fears. And the more facts you give them, the angrier they get, and they more outrageous their convictions become. Alright, damnit, I have to admit that I watched _most_ of it. The film isn’t so much about Obama, it’s more about existence of a Bildenburg group, or the Elite, that makes all of the banking decisions. There is a lot of hand-wringing about a New World Order that will essentially collapse the economy and make us slaves to a handful of rich people. Now, _Obama Deception_ its mostly crock except for one point: the Federal Reserve. And it’s got me thinking. Our banking system is ridiculously and gratuitiously contrived. Why funnel money from the Treasury to the Reserve to the Banks and then to the People? The People should be able to tap and borrow money from the Treasury like Banks do. If there is no arbiter between a U.S citizen and U.s Treasury when wages are taxed, why there should be no arbiter between the issuance of money from the People’s coffers to the People? I also think that any U.S citizen should be able to trade stock with cash if they go to the appropriate place in Wall Street. You shouldn’t need a broker or service to do it for you. What bonehead came up with that idea? ---

Unless it makes specific charges that can be refuted, I can almost predict how this video goes and why it may seem valid to many people… Short history of CFR/TLC/B’bergs, with quotes of members supporting NWO (Not difficult to document). Then history of how members held various gov’t positions & put through policies bringing us closer to socialism & globalism. Obama Circles examined for how many members of CFR/TLC/B’bergs there are, what policies they & President support that can be seen as promoting socialism & globalism. And poof- there you are! Instant argument about Obama as NWO conspirator! ---

Isn’t this stuff just old CTs repackaged? I remember reading the same stuff about Bush 41: trilateral commission, masons, secret societies controlling the world, fed reserve in on it, etc. ---

This seriously calls into question how much you’ve looked into these CTs. Jews are ~0.2% of the world’s population. They are ~60-100% of the people named by name by CTers promoting “banking elite”-type CTs. You think that’s a coincidence? You think it’s a coincidence that pretty much every CTer promoting this stuff buys the Protocols of the Elders of Zion hook, line, and sinker? It’s not suggestive of anti-semitism to you that one of their favorite insults to hurl into their megaphones is “Zionist”? Are there tin-hatters out there who aren’t racist? Sure. There is nothing new here. When the government decided to kick 700 billion dollars into the banking industry ,i was one of the only dopers who was against it. I felt the money should have been put into saving homes from foreclosure. The bankers were responsible for what they caused. They should not have been made whole. None of them should have been allowed near the TARP funds. Theoretically the banking system has been saved. But the foreclosures which were in back of all our troubles were left alone. They still are there and will do damage on a continuing basis until we fix them. We have bank closures every week. Foreclosures are going up. Many moons ago there was a "jet set’. They were international playboys with incredible family fortunes. They had much more in common with each other than they did with any citizens of any country. It is natural that they would work together. It is our governments function to fight for the people. They don’t. It will get worse. The Supreme Court had heard a case that would allow corporations to fund elections as they see fit. It will result in even more corporate power in our country. We will sit back and let it happen. Worse ,the average people like many dopers will defend it on some esoteric concept of corporations actually being people. They are not. That ruling was a fix. ---

Min of Fin or Treasury do not fund central banks either. You do understand trading requires people to do it, yes? (Or if not people systems run by people). Those are brokers.
