[New Jersey’s](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Flag_of_New_Jersey.svg) is pretty garish. Which I suppose is fitting, since New Jersey is of course a state known for it’s class. I’m not sure what I like better, the ski-cap-on-a-stick or the disembodied horse head. And the lack of centering in [Wyoming’s](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Flag_of_Wyoming.svg) flag makes me angry. ---

Virginia’s flag is oh so much cooler when you realize that the gray item in the soldier’s left arm is a bong. Maryland really had no choice. The flag is the arms of the Calvert and Crossland families, who founded the colony back in 1634. The flag recalls history, without relating to the “late unpleasantness” the way Mississippi’s does. Indiana’s flag was obviously designed by a committee of Rotarians. ---
