I don’t have time to read this thread now. Just wanted to pop in and say that the moment I saw Obama standing in front of an “odd-looking” flag (sorry about that, Ohio), the fruitcakes would go nuts. We need to forget about fluoridating the nation’s water supplies and start spiking them with lithium instead. ---

I live in Alabama, and I like the state flag, although I think the original [Cross of Burgundy](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/dd/Flag_of_New_Spain.svg)with the thorns on the side of it is better, though. The [state seal](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f3/Alabama_state_seal.png), on the other hand, is hideous. Also, this is the first time I’ve seen it, but Maryland’s flag isn’t that bad. New York’s is much worse. Valete, Vox Imperatoris ---

Here in [Nevada](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Flag_of_Nevada.svg), we were so tired after all the fighting, we just went for the standard blue with a small bumper sticker in the corner. Lib, I (and others no doubt) appreciate what you’ve been doing with your Obama threads – in fact, I think it’s very clever to jump the right-wing gun (so to speak) by attacking Obama with ridiculous arguments and exposing those arguments for their inanity _before_ the usual suspects can regurgitate their Hannity talking points. That being said, you’ve found a innocent casualty here. Put the poor guy out of his misery. ---

I actually like the Maryland flag. You kids don’t know what you are talking about. When I lived in Alabama all we got was a white piece of cloth and you went in the yard and poked yourself with a stick until you could bleed enough to make the red X on it _and we liked it_! You don’t appreciate the flag, what with its fancy colors and designs. Damn kids today. ---
