Obama has to dress down, he's busy cleaning up your puke!

No, I think what’s getting people cranked up is the suggestion that you can’t be good at your job if you don’t dress up.

You can of course point to where I said any such thing?

I surely can.

That’s quite a tortured bit of extrapolation there.

The fact that people have to distort what I say into something completely different and then argue against that means that I must be making good points, I guess. Still, it would be nice if I only had to argue about the things I’ve actually said.

“Well, we weren’t planning on invading Taiwan, but that Obama guy never wears a coat in the office. So we had to. Communism!”

I think we’ve hit recursion here.

But I feel confident that on the list of “Things to do to be taken seriously as a world leader”, referring to the head of one of the world’s nuclear (and energy) superpowers as “Pootie-Poot”* probably does not appear.

*Although I believe Putin didn’t care

Does no one here have grandparents who blather on about the good old days? Do you actually *engage *them on this shit? Or do you just smile and nod and “uh huh” like a sane person with a sense of futility?

Just askin’.

ONE-THIRD OF THE TIME THE MOTHERFUCKER WAS ON VACATION! Where the hell does he get off judging anyone for tardiness! Was he pissed that Colin being five minutes late delayed him getting to the ranch to rustle some brush?!

You’re just taking a stupid position to get people riled up.

No, he really means it. Don’t get him started about spats.

I will assume you haven’t yet looked at that slideshow with photos of both Bush and Reagan working in the Oval Office in shirtsleeves. Here it is again:

Not only is Bush working in the Oval Office in shirtsleeves, his shirt looks all wrinkled and disheveled.

Not only is Reagan working in the Oval Office in shirtsleeves, it’s not even a white shirt, it’s red! AND, gasp, he’s not even wearing a tie!

Ford’s there too, working in the Oval Office in shirtsleeves. Why are these Republican presidents disrespecting the Executive Office of The United States’ government?

ps, Card’s an ass.

No, Card’s a 'tard.

There is no universal objective standard for ‘nicely’.

If Starving Artist refuses now to recant and apologize, then he is a certified troll.

“Andrew Tard, George W. Bush’s mentally challenged Chief of Staff, today scathingly criticized the Obama’s White House for undermining the Constitution by a lax dress code, which permitted certain members of the executive branch to remove their suit jackets briefly on occasion while conducting official government business, thereby violating certain Constitutionally mandated directives about Oval Office dress codes…”

Things have truly gone to hell in this country (that’s right, I said hell!) since Ozzie Nelson stopped wearing a monocle and a diamond stickpin. Right, SA?

Wrong, you don’t even get what the discussion is about.

See. This sort of reality disconnect is why you guys don’t win elections any more.

Well, what’s right is right. I hereby retract, in light of the photos clearly showing my beloved Pubbie presidents jacketless (but still with cuffs fastened and ties in place, it should be noted :D, save for one pic of Reagan where he was clearly en route to or coming from his home in California), my assertions that they held to a more formal dress code in the Oval Office than does Obama. Clearly my information in this regard was not factual and I do apologize.

I may never stop giggling at this one. From now on, THIS is the way I’m going to picture Obama in the Oval Office- rawkin’ the Snuggie!

Didn’t pretend President Bartlet wear Notre Dame sweatshirts in the pretend Oval Office without anyone getting upset?

My more serious comment is to rebuke Andy Card for saying that the White House and/or US President represents the Constitution. Since when? The Constitution needs no representation. It stands for itself, doesn’t it? The POTUS is the head of just one of the three branches enumerated in the Constitution, isn’t that right? I’m no strict constructionist or originalist, but I would think that everyone could agree on that much.

Good for you Starving Artist!
(what’s a Snuggie?)
