It just makes sense though. This puts pressure on Obama to nominate somebody do good and so balanced that the Republicans would look stupid and spiteful to refuse yo consider… Which is exactly what the republicans want.

If recent history is any guide, there is no reason to assume that Republicans care one bit if they appear stupid and spiteful.

Normally here I would roll my eyes and fault you for taking predictable partisan potshots, because nobody wants to appear spiteful and stupid, especially in an election year, and normally I would be 100% correct.
