[Video here](http://www.towleroad.com/2012/06/obamas-pride-month-proclamation-video.html). I haven’t even watched it yet, but a bunch of my friends are pretty jazzed about it. And tomorrow I’m marching in the pride parade with them. I don’t expect Romney to show up. ---

June has always been Pride month… 😕 (Well not \*always \*obviously, but for as long as I can remember hearing the term “Pride Month” it’s always been in June.) ---

Yes, but this is the first time that a US president has acknowledged and supported it. ---

An extra note, GW Bush didn’t celebrate that. But he did do things like [Asian Pacific American Heritage Month](http://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news/releases/2006/04/20060428-8.html) [And Black History Month.](http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/BlackHistory/video?id=4279488) [And June As Black Music Month.](http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/thepresidentandcabinet/a/blackmusic.htm) So he wasn’t above celebrating minorities their months. Just the gays. ---

I was kinda hoping that lane courtesy month was to bring about the need to recognize others bowling around you. They really need to be more specific. ---
