I wonder, does Obama brush his teeth and tie his shoes and hold his fork like every other Washington politician? I suspect he does and I really wonder how that jibes with his message of change and doing things differently when in reality hje is just like those inside the beltway, with his breathing oxygen and eating food to show how he is just like regular folks.

Maybe he should give a speech in Klingon, so we can do away with the politics of old - using standard english to deliver the message.

If at the root this election is really about change- why do I see a full slate of carbon-based candidates?

It’s all a sham.

Edit- shit- I forgot Romney. OK, we get one, ONE silicon-based entity in a change year like this, I still think that’s rather disappointing.
How is it different? It’s just a pin after all?
You really can’t understand why the _source_ of the pin makes any difference?

The question is, who is anyone else to say that a person is _not_ patriotic enough if he does _not_ display those symbols?

I also think it’s disningenous, bordering on dishonest, to deny that those things _are_ frequently employed as empty fashion symbols.

Whoever said that? Neither Obama nor anyone else made any attempt to call attention to it before it was pounced on by the right wing, PC (Patriotically Correct) police.
