My brother just sent me this e-mail. I responded initially only debunking the logic errors. Then I went looking for factual info. A google search on it shows several religious and white-supremacist sites and message-boards repeating it. Regarding No. 5. - Many African blacks who consider themselves Christian still practice polygamy - look at Jacob Zuma, our ex-VP. Or the king of Swaziland. It was practiced here before they even heard of monotheism, let alone Islam. Polygamy’s perfectly legal here in South Africa. ---

[/QUOTE] Also note that (in Cameroon at least) a Christian polygamist is more likely to have a huge number of wives (14!) than a Muslim one. Muslims for the most part stick with the four wife limit. ---

[/QUOTE] Well, earlier I think he refers to the Montgomery bus boycott, which if I recall was in 1955-56, and the African airlift that started in 1960 and brought his father to the U.S., and then to the Selma-Montgomery march in 1965. It sounds more like establishing a theme than laying out a specific chronology – at least, I’m pretty sure he assumed his audience already knew the history involved, and that he was talking about a continuum of efforts for social justice. Anyway, it’s a pretty lame criticism. (Excellent speech otherwise, by the way.) ---
