They will have their own agents just like all modern, minor, presidential children. They are protected at all times but the Secret Service also strives to let them have as normal a school experience as possible. They tend to protect the security of the entire school or at least the parts where the kids are rather than being in the classroom with the kids at all times.
I heard reported that the first night at the White House, the staff there had set up an elaborate scavenger hunt for the girls all over the house, and the grand prize at the end of the rainbow was – tah dah! – a visit from the Jonas Brothers. Something tells me those girls are going to have the time of their young lives in the White House. At least I hope they do!
That is just so cool. I remember Amy Carter just looking desperately unhappy throughout her dad’s time in the WH. She was just a bit younger than I was, IMS.

Note that Obama also ordered the CIA to stop “enhanced interrogations” by requiring them to follow the Army Field Manual, and ordered the closing of secret CIA prisons.
That’s pretty cool about the girls. I think their time in the White House will be positive. And I had forgotten about the grandmother moving in.

Maybe he’s pacing himself so he has a Bush policy or two to undo for each day of his first term.
