It’s an edgy joke, but I don’t see anything wrong with it. Huckabee’s all kinds of awesome just for his refreshing take on the whole Jeremiah Wright thing, and he’s got one of the better senses of humor of anyone in politics today. ---

I thought it was funny. I wish more people in politics in general had a sense of humor. Too often people are so scared to smile and crack a joke, somehow the offender looks less genuine or something. I was chastized my entire tenure in grad school because I was a jokster. I think huckabees sense of humor is refreshing. ---

Fwuh? I’m as ready to criticize Obama’s gun politics as anybody, but I just don’t get what Huckabee is doing here. “Hah! Hah! Hah! Obama is such a silly man, he would duck if someone pointed a gun at him!” It’s… not really funny at all. :dubious: ---

I walked past the convention center today where the NRA fest is being held. I’m not too torn up about having the NRA around (NB: I own a rifle, but I \am not\ part of the NRA, and don’t see the two necessarily connected), and Huckabee’s comments don’t help. It reminds me of Reagan’s mike check when he joked that we would be bombing (Soviet) Russia in a few minutes. Vlad/Igor ---

Oh, its quite true. Born and raised in Texas, and a childhood familiarity with firearms has instilled an incorruptible ethical sense in me. Of course, a couple of my cousins had to have the lesson emphasized with a refresher course in a convenient penitentiary… ---
