That would be a different situation indeed. Mainly because Obama didn’t do this by “fiat” but in accordance with unanimously passed legislation pledging support (including military) in assisting the regional governments in stopping Kony.
AFRICOM has to be used for something, right? A real life live fire exercise, etc.
Dems only feel uncomfortable killing foreigners when it’s not one of ‘their own’ doing it. Pubs don’t care either way. Film at 11.
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Let’s just hope the LRA hunt goes well. A few dozen professional soldiers could whup guerrilla ass.
They aren’t going to “whup ass” they are advisers.
Until one gets killed.
At the outset of WWI the British cabinet asked the French commanding general Joffre how many British soldiers he would need to stop the German advance. He replied, “Right now just one, and he needs to get shot as soon as possible”.
Well, not for the first time, I have to admit my ignorance here…I had heard of the Poland thing (I don’t think it’s the same but concede that MMV), but the other stuff I never heard of, to be honest.

And you never heard of it because a president sending a few hundred troops somewhere is a total nonevent.
I agree that Obama sending 100 advisers to Africa is a non-event…but Bush sending over 4000 combat troops to Liberia sounds like more of a big deal, if nothing else cost wise.

Well it worked, end of story.
Obviously he’s sending in those soldiers to secure his real birth certificate.
But are a 100 troops enough to secure the Long Form?
As long as they don’t get gay married while they are there.
Rush Limbaugh’s headline: Obama invades Uganda, Targets Christians.
Republicans, this is your party.
wow is that real? more like something you could read on the Onion
That last paragraph is golden. “Wait… These guys commit all manner of atrocities? Well… Maybe… But… Obama is fighting Christians!”
You can’t make stuff like that up.
The LRA needs plenty killing, but why is it the USA’s problem? The US president exists to further the interests of American citizens, what benefits it the USA to expose US troops in danger and use money to fight the LRA? But kill away. You shall hear never a bad word from me on that account.
Well, American civilians are represented via their Congresscritters and said critters voted unanimously in both chambers that the US has an interest in this.
Arguably it’s not a huge interest in comparison to some things but then I wouldn’t call 100 soldier/advisors a huge outlay of resources, either.
Yeah well, all those guerrilla army drug cartels ravaging Mexico these days and allegedly making assassination deals with Iran are all Christian too.
According to Limbaugh:
So did the Khmer Rogue and Che Guevera,
That’s because news sources such as Fox tried to hide it.
