OK wait a second… He complained about the fat lady touching him. So after intermission, she sat in the aisle. Look Ma! No Touching! And now he’s complaining about her causing a fire hazard by sitting in the aisle? So, rather than pitting the theatre for not having adequate handicap seating\*, you pit her for having the audacity to be seen in public while fat. Dude. Really. \*Typically one or two seats removed from the end of a row so there’s space for a wheelchair or a folding chair. ---

On a tangent to the OP, my GF and I went to a NASCAR Nextel Cup race this summer at the Chicagoland Speedway. Tickets had to be purchased as a four race package, but since we only went to the Cup race, I paid over $300 to see this race. As mentioned about theatres, the seating was reserved and probably marked off too small for the current physical size of the audience. So, here we are in 100 degree heat absolutely jammed into our row. I’m big enough that I take up at least my share. My GF is absolutely getting squished. She isn’t happy about it and in turn makes sure that I’m not happy about it either. In fact, no one in our row seemed very happy. We leave the seats to get a drink and start walking down the bleacher steps. When we got to the bottom, I glanced back up at our row. The reason for the crowding was obvious. There was a man at the other end of the row from us that was easily twice as wide as what would have been marked for one ticket. Everyone seems to be coming down pretty hard on the OP. I can even see some of it with the repeated stock qualifiers. However, there really is an issue there. In my example, you had 17-19 (I forget if it was 18 or 20 people in a row) people who were miserable. Hell, I’m sure the big guy wasn’t real happy either, so make that 18 or 20 people. That’s a total of $2000-3000 dropped on those tickets and everyone’s day ends up worse than it should be due to luck of the draw with who is in our row. You can see this on airline flights, at concerts, just about everywhere. So, aside from bashing on the OP, what’s the answer to this problem? ---

I have sympathy with the OP. Because I’ve had the same experience. I’m a fat lady myself, and a strong believer in equal rights for fat people, but I sat next to a person who overlapped into my movie theater seat, and it was so physically uncomfortable- my back was killing me from leaning away from him long before the movie was over- that my evening was miserable, and so I hated ‘Home Alone’ even more than I would have ordinarily. Unfortunately, I couldn’t move, because he was my father, and mom was on the other side of me. But it was still painfully uncomfortable. ---

Maybe the obese lady moved into the aisle to get away from **bubastis’s** cellphone conversations. I’ll bet he’s really upset because she didn’t offer him any of her chocolate. ---
