This thread caught my eye because when I opened my browser just now, this story was one of four rotating highlighted stories on Yahoo’s home page. The other three stories are Super Bowl predictions, cheetah babies at the National Zoo (with video!) and Coach K collapses but keeps on ticking. The headline was “Teens fined for giving cookies to neighbor.” Enjoy your privacy, Neighbor! ---

I, too, want to know what kind of cookies they were. Anything that wasn’t laden with chocolate is grounds for suing, IMHO. ---

No lawyer took this case to court, it was small claims court in which parties appear pro se. Though it seems that the young ladies did have legal representation. Also, for those calling Ms. Young an “old” lady, please note that she’s only 43 years old. She has an 18 year old daughter and 60-something mother living with her. (Neither of whom, apparently, freaked out over the horror of cookies left on the porch.) On an up note, the $900 has been covered and then some, and the girls’ have asked that any further contributions be sent to the memorial fund for the families of the Columbine tragedy. ---
