The most well known position is quarterback, but every team has at least one halfback, also sometimes used as a wingback or a tailback. Fullbacks are less common these days but still in use. Sometimes a slot receiver is called a slotback, but that name isn’t used much. On defense there are nickelbacks and dimebacks, which are safeties used in nickel and dime formations. Cornerbacks are typically just called corners these days. ---

Which, of course, real vultures actually do. They’ll maybe wait until the prey is weak and easy, but they don’t make a big deal of the precise moment when the Reaper comes to visit. ---

We’re used to seeing vultures as scavengers, because they are opportunistic eaters, but they will hunt and kill prey, too. But we usually encounter them scavenging, especially road kill. ---

Remember Cheech & Chong’s “Sister Mary Elephant”? If you’re of a certain age, you probably heard it hundreds if not thousands of times in the ‘70s. At one point, the Sister recites a poem to the class: _The sun kisses the morning skies The birds kiss the butterflies The dew kisses the morning grass_ …and then she gets interrupted and never finishes the poem. It took me _decades_ to finally realize what the next line of that poem was going to be. ---

Not sure if this fits the topic. In the original Blade Runner, it’s 2019, the year Replicant Roy Batty dies. Rutger Hauer who plays Roy dies in 2019. Time to die. ---

Today, I came across a couple of images that look very similar to me. If the first wasn’t copied from the second, I’m sure someone here will point out its actual source. I can’t seem to get both images to appear in this post, so I’ve just linked them. The [first image](https://www.pinterest.es/pin/523684262894816535/) is one I’d seen many dozens of times as part of a regular TV broadcast of monster movies in the 1970s called Creature Features: I came across the [second image](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_film#/media/File:Lon_Chaney_London_After_Midnight_Vampire_Bat_Cape.jpg) this morning and immediately thought of the Creature Features logo. It’s from the lost film [London After Midnight](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_After_Midnight_(film)): The Creature Features logo appears to be based on a reversed image of the still shot of London After Midnight. There are obvious differences in the arms, hands, face and other details, but if you pull up both images in different browser windows and switch back-and-forth between the two, look at the similarity of the head and the hat and tell me what you think. BTW, the images on that Pinterest account are a deep dive into some of the more trivial memories of my youth. ---
