Lois’s car wont start!! The EMP alone sends the USA into the stone age. And by ‘prevent the damage’ i guess he flies around the explosion at super speed cause otherwise, windows as far away as Denver are going to be blown out.
Sure seems to me it would be smarter to just shove that bomb into outer space too.
And by the way, Supes shouldnt need to promise to stop the Eastern bomb first. A 100 MT bomb exploding in Hackensack?? Goodbye some 80 million people in a flash.
I cant remember if ive posted this in this thread cause its so long but…for several years I thought ‘Borg’ was just a really cool name and didnt realize its short for Cyborg
Not really. The original plan, before Richard Donner was fired before Superman II could be completed, was for Superman to do just that, and that would be what freed the Kryptonians from the Fortress of Solitude. You can see that version in Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut.
You know i absolutely conflated the Paris Superman II bomb with the Eastern seaboard H-bomb…thought he threw that in space, it exploded freeing the PZ villains and then he looked down to see the Western seaboard bomb explode.
Can’t say I’ve seen it that many times, but several times at least; the episode of Everybody Loves Raymond that revolves around the daughter’s collecting “hakidu cards”. Paul Reubens guest stars as the proprietor of a comic book store where Ray goes to try and buy a rare hakidu card. During their conversation Reubens says “the most important thing is to love yourself.” IIRC he evens repeats it for emphasis. The audience laughs and Ray says “that’s the greatest love of all”. I only just realized that it was a reference to Reubens getting caught several years earlier masturbating in an adult movie theater.
I hadn’t noticed it before, but I just saw an image of the character that I hadn’t seen in ages, and the similarity struck me.
Was Buzz Lightyear’s look inspired by that of Space Angel?
Space Angel was one of those made-for-TV ultra-low-budget cartoons that used mostly still images and that creepy “Syntha-Vox” mouth movement around 1960. But his space get-up includes a head cap, ear coverings, shoulder pads, and a “ribbed” abdominal section, just like Buzz Lightyear
This one isn’t massively obvious at first, but is in high-def and if you re-watch the movie many times.
The Matrix: in the scene where they are reflected in the doorknob, they could not hide the camera. What did they do? They put a leather coat and green tie on it to line-up with Lawrence Fishburne’s coat and tie so it would look like the camera was part of him in the reflection. It’s adorable and great movie craft.
