# Occupations/Jobs attracting fetishists?

My gf was doing a pedicure on herself last night. I asked if we had some event coming up (often the reason for her working on her feet). She told me she was going shoe shopping.
She further explained that she likes “high end shoes” from one particular store. The guy who usually waits on her has a foot fetish, but is very good at his job. So, although she is slightly creeped out by his comments/actions she returns for shoes every so often.
Now, I never thought of this before, but this dude must be in heaven! Is this typical? Are there other examples of this?

I’m going to guess the guy might really like feet, but probably not a full blown fetish. I remember hearing about a guy that had a really bad foot fetish. So bad that when summer rolled around he had hard time being outside because of all the girls wearing flip flops/sandals or being barefoot. Not only did he feel guilty looking at their feet, he had a hard time _not_ looking at their feet and on top of that he always felt like people could tell that he was staring at their feet and was turned on by it.
He said for a ‘normal guy’ it would be like if women suddenly started walking down the street topless, but you weren’t allowed to look. Imagine how uncomfortable that would make you.
Besides, I’d really doubt the comment if he’s telling customers about it. Who tells customers what their sexual turn-ons are? And why is your girlfriend making sure her feet look good for him, especially if she claims to be creeped out by him. She might actually like the attention, but I’d at least be a little concerned. Maybe you should go with her.

My, umm, _friend_ used to have a smoking fetish (a thing for female smokers) and by coincidence ended up working in a dance club/bar before the smoking ban went into effect. Over time it pretty much cured him of the fetish (mostly) but he did enjoy the serendipity… he told me. 😃

Dude is probably just getting into complimenting her feet a _little_ too much. Not like actually describing his sexual fantasies to her.
The fact that she is getting a pedicure beforehand specifically because of this guy is, I will grant, a little odd.

A guy I went to highschool with had a fur fetish. I know this because he got a job at a fur store that also stored people’s furs for the the summer and he was sneaking pieces out to do whatever with (I really don’t want to know) and got caught trying to sneak them back in to th store. He tried to enlist our mutual friend to return them to the store by acting like a customer, but she didn’t do it in time and he got caught.

She told me he compliments way too much and with too much “near devotional sincerity”. She “gets” a pedicure (pays for) before major events, like vacations. This was more a routine self done pedicure.

Clarification: she is only mildly creeped out by the guy. She describes him as harmless, and his procliviity (?) is common knowledge.
Go with her shoe shopping? The dude would have to have prior convictions for kidnapping to warrant hat sorta response.😃

I can picture doing it if it gets her “oh, my, you have such beautiful feet! I love the polish!” rather than “oh, my, you have such beautiful feet, how can you let them get so dry? You really should do something about these heels; you really, really need a good exfoliating treatment and hidration. And your toes would be so much prettier with some polish on them!”
No, that isn’t any guy I know; I just translated my mother’s notions of “complimenting Nava’s new blouse” to “feet”.

Don’t think of your friend as a “full blown” fetishist, think of him as a guy with a foot fetish and hang ups or neuroses about his own sexuality. It’s completely possible to have a “full blown” foot fetish and not feel guilty or uncomfortable about people’s feet.
Sure, it’s something most people can’t relate to easily. It’s much different because everyone is on the same page about tits and ass being sexualized but usually you’re the only one who knows feet are sexual (to you). But that’s nothing to feel guilty about or that’s inherently uncomfortable.
If any of us wanted to be lascivious we could have sexual thoughts about every woman in tight pants or a low cut top, and if we felt we couldn’t control those thoughts we’d feel guilty and uncomfortable all the time, just like your friend does. It’s just a matter of self control (or lack of it) and comfort with your sexuality.

Plenty of guys, even without interesting sexual fetishes, have a lack of self control and say sexual things to women. Being ok with it and dolling up your feet for your foot fetish shoe salesman… I agree is alarming behavior.

I think he suggested you go with because she really seems to be into impressing the foot fetish guy, not that he was gonna attack her or anything.
