But instead you lie about online meltodowns and otherwise make pronouncements based on form over substance. You actually think getting angry means the other side won! octopus is losing badly in this, because he can’t actually counter the claims being made against him, and most people are smart enough not to fall for that from over substance bullshit. All without realizing that getting octopus to post in here was the goal, and they succeeded. Perhaps I’ll see how the Dope is without your input for a while. I prefer to hear from people who can see through dishonest tactics, not those fooled by them. ---

I was under the impression that the goal of a troll is to make other people angry. If you get angry because of the troll, it doesn’t necessarily mean you lost, but it _does_ mean that they won - they achieved their goal and are presumably happy about that. ( **octopus** is _visibly_ happy with is performance in this thread.) As I’m personally capable of maintaining heavy communication in at least a dozen threads at once I’m not sure how getting him to post in here would have much of an effect on that front at all. Now, I noticed some comments in here proposing that other people, rather than engaging **octopus** in other threads, instead salt the Dope with links to this thread, depriving him of trollfeed in the threads he’s shitting in. How that would work out in practice I don’t know, but it’s got a better chance than trying to trapping him in this thread with no chance of escape. ---

I will say there are some actual losers in this thread: those who fall for an obvious trick even when it’s been pointed out to them. The fact that octopus is pointing and laughing undermines everything he is saying. What has happened to this board that you guys are so easily duped? Shodan used to have to actually put work in. Now he acts like a redditor who wants downvotes and you guys seem to think he has a point. Funny thing is, I’ve defended octopus before, but octopus lost any support I ever had for him from this thread. If you think more highly of him for admitting to trolling, then you’re part of the problem. ---
