Octopodes is the etymologically **consistent **plural, plus it is fun to say. “consistent” and “correct” may not always align.

Well we already know about 99% of Dopers are helping that dog, it’s funny the dog’s friends seem to be cussing out the people telling them to hurry. My God that Anaconda is one strong Mother!

Humans are so arbitrary when it comes to animals: It’s okay to slaughter cows, but dogs are off limits. Tuna is okay, but shark fins aren’t, etc…
