That’s how it was told to me, exactly…bad grammar…I don’t see why it wouldn’t be, but I don’t really see a significance.

The only answer I can imagine has nothing to do with physics.

You put the pure bred Siamese cat mother in the basket and all the kittens get in too so that they can eat.

Since I’ve had Chica, \*everything \*has to do with Siamese kitties.

While searching the Wiki page on Galileo for any mention of eggs or baskets, I ran across this paragraph:

“On **31 October 1992** , Pope John Paul II expressed regret for how the Galileo affair was handled, and **officially conceded that the Earth was not stationary** , as the result of a study conducted by the Pontifical Council for Culture.”

My guess would be that they are somebody’s pet newts, who they have named all “Clinton” for shits and giggles (a bit like “Romeo and Juliet are dead” if anyone knows that riddle) - the names are kind of irrelevant.

Is there a particular way of getting newts into a basket? I know nothing at all about them.

Better late than never.

For what it’s worth, I always thought it was a publicity stunt on John Paul II’s part.

The higher the fewer, though I’ve always substituted “mouse” for “newt”.

It was a riddle posed by the Mad Hatter to Alice. It has no answer. Or at least, it wasn’t supposed to. That never sat well with some people, though.

No, you newt 'em from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

Maybe something along the lines of:

Algorithm = Al Gore gets them (with Al Gore being the “father/inventor” of physics as well as the internet)

Of course, I don’t know what the basket has to do with anything and why the Clintons look alike, but this is a WAG anyways.
