# Odd view count question

So I started a new thread in GQ, as usual when I went back the forum list I saw my thread at the top of the page Replies 0, Views 1. But when I clicked to see my subscribed threads it listed it as having 0 views. Why would that number be different?

I’m pretty sure that when you post, and the board redirects you to your new thread, that counts as one view. I suppose the Subscribed list takes that into account, and shows you the views other than your own that have occurred?

I just checked and right now, both places say 94 views. So now they are the same. Strange.

The board doesn’t update the views immediately, so those numbers are pretty random. You can have vBulletin do insta-updates, but apparently it’s a very server-intensive process so no one enables it (no sites I’ve seen at least).
