# Ode to Spike the kitten

He’s furry and quick, smart as a whip and the light of our lives. No warm lap is safe, no object on the floor untasted. While you have numerous cat toys, your favorite is still the plastic strip from the cat food bag. You like to sleep with us, and love closets.

The vet is says your big for your age, or older then we thought. As suspected you have ear mites, but the medication we got for you will help wipe them out. I will happily spend more on your health care then mine. You purr when you eat, you purr when you play and sometimes you purr because you feel like it.

You have been with us for 5 days now, and I cannot imagine our house without you. From the time we saved you from the pound you have been a joy to have around. Even though I have been around cats all of my life, I still think you are the best cat ever.

In fact the vet said more canned food (to go with the dry) for Spike- boy is he going to be pleased with the news. 😃

I was thinking of getting a kittie and naming it Spike. I love that name. But, on the other hand, I also love Kittencaboodle. Mr. Beckwall has the veto power, so I imagine it will be Spike.

Have fun with your kitten! They are so much better than dogs.
