Just a quick hello to all. I’ve been in the hospital since last Tuesday, with total renal failure. Two surgeries, and two stents later, I’m home. OMG. This is ridiculous. FML. Will read later, whenever I’m up to it. ---

The weather here sucks, as it usually does. It’s hot, although not as hot as it has been. We’ve had a lot of smoke drifting in from the wildfires in Southern Oregon and Redding, so right now the rains can’t come soon enough as far as I’m concerned. I gave up on writing and headed to the kitchen an hour or so ago. I made Swedish meatballs in a cream sauce—all McCormick seasonings, so about as boring as you can get. My wife like using orzo pasta with such dishes, but my kids don’t like it because it looks like rice. :rolleyes: So now I have half a pot of cooked orzo I have no idea what to do with. ---

Just relay; we’ll be here for you. **Woody,** giving lines like “So now I have half a pot of cooked orzo I have no idea what to do with.” to **spidey, ruble, and flytrap** is…well, hopefully they will be merciful. **HepCat,** MMP names are bestowed by acclimation; or whoever yells the loudest (it varies). But I like it. **Red,** enjoy your trip Northwards; family is usually fun (one way or another). **Washington,** you seem a but upset with American Airlines; perhaps a visit to the rant thread is in order? As for grilled Okra that **swampy and flytrap** seem to love, my recipe is (1) Grill Okra (2) Throw into trash can. Worked teaching soccer for an hour with 18 6-year old girls and 3-4 other coaches, twas’ fun but tiring, so bedtime will be upon me soon. Passing out soccer uniforms tomorrow, so that will keep me active. Thinking about asking the remodeling contractor about replacing the bathtub in the hall bathroom with a shower-only (amazing how after committing to spending a large sum of money you start thinking about ways to spend even more money…) ---

I got some sleep - not nearly enough, but lots better than I’ve been getting lately, so I’ll take it. Oddly enough, even tho I took Mel around 7, I didn’t fall asleep till almost 10. I’d considered popping 2 of them, but I did want to wake up for work. We’ll see what I decide tonight. So, good morning, I guess. We’ve got a hot one ahead - they’re expecting triple digit heat index in DC this afternoon - right about the time the baseball game is supposed to start. Guess them millionaires are gonna earn their bux today! As for me, I’ll take my desk in air conditioning, even if I don’t get a window! Happy Tuesday! ---

It was still rainin’ last night when I went to bed around nine-thirty, so who knows. The big task to accomplish today is laundry. Tonight is taco night at El Rancho Oso. OLÉ! **MetalMouse** shame! Happy Toosday! It’s 72 degrees out now, but supposed to get up to 90, with some showers predicted for this evening. I woke up at 4:30, thanks bladder, and since I have to get up at 5:30 I just stayed up.I see a nap happening later today. I’m glad to see you back and that you are okay **nonacetone**. Today is Ripple nail trimming day. He’s still snoring away this morning, he opened his eyes and looked at me once. I think whoever Adam is cheating with must irk during the week since he has been hanging out with us more. You gotta love wrong numbers. For a while I was getting messages from some guy, forget his name, telling me he got a hotel room and sent me the info. Eventually through his messages I figured out that he ws a pimp. So yesterday get a call from a number I don’t know and I let it go. Then I get a text from the same number saying ‘call me, my friend’. ‘My friend’ is one of those expressions that makes me feel very unfriendly. So I aked who it is and she says her name. I sent back a question mark and she asked if I was so-and-so, a guys name. I told her no and that should have been the end of the conversation. I’m not who you are looking for, most people apologize for having the wrong number, end of conversation. But no, she sends a message asking it this is his phone. wtf? Why would I have _his_ phone, and if I did wouldn’t I hand it to him, or tell her that I’d relay a message? I came very close to telling her that he says she is a skank ho and not to call him again, or why are you calling my husband, we have 5 children, what kind of woman are you? Instead I went with, so that is the name of the guy I stole this phone from. Later I thought, I should have sent her the pimp’s number. ---

At the ripe old age of 12 **HRH Lucky Louie** had decided to be scared of rain storms. Not thunder and lightning but just rain on the metal roof. He woke me last night by getting up in my face to let me know it was raining. I will say once again DO NOT BE A MANAGER. If I could go back I would. I have a flaky employee who left yesterday at noon and needs to leave again today at noon to help take care of her parents in England via phone. WTF?? Happy Tuesday all. I don’t know how to spell lightening or lightning??? Help. ---

Leaving work early to go to my wife’s school, sending the kids home with someone else. Then my wife and I are now both going to a councilor. (Different ones) My epilepsy surgery was “ehh” but the past year of testing and prepping for it and such was . . . difficult. Then a few trips to stores for random things. A long day, but could be a good one. Yesterday and tomorrow are simpler ones. So far it’s been a normal day though. Someone didn’t understand the CAD file I sent. It didn’t look right! They have the same program but didn’t realize you could use a different view on the off chance you ever need to print it. Same image, just click right there to have a different POV. My bad. :smack: ---

Waking up to day No. 9 of a 10-day work marathon. This morning, a coworker called out sick, and I volunteered to take her night shift tonight. My boss messages me, thanking me for stepping up the last few days and awarded me another compensation day. This makes three for me to use in the next two weeks. I’m debating when I should use it. I already have a four-day weekend – Thursday to Sunday – coming up, and I have a trip planned for Aug. 17-19. I can either: Use all three this weekend, making it a five-day weekend (Thursday to Monday) or Use just the two this weekend (Thursday to Sunday) and use the last one Thursday, before my flight, so I have another four-day weekend. My flight Thursday leaves in the evening, and I planned to work remotely that day, which usually means a half day. ---

Lunch time! I have too much stuff going at once. I’ve got drawings for correction or revision from 3 different projects, plus I’m drawing up weldments for a brand new project. No wonder my desk is a mess!! But it beats the last place I worked where I might be twiddling my thumbs for hours at a time. Still no chocolate, tho. The Chocolate Fairy is letting me down. Dammit! ---
