Plus the traffic headed east was awful - it took 45 minutes to go 5 miles!! And, alas there was only 1 balloon there. But we tasted some wine and daughter took some pics and Roxstar got overheated, but we cooled her down before she got sick. > [@Wrapping up July in the MMP](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/wrapping-up-july-in-the-mmp/818802/215): > > **Moooommm,** only one balloon? Need to go to Albuquerque in October: [Event Schedule - Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta](http://www.balloonfiesta.com/event-info/event-schedule) Balloons fly close to dawn & dusk times as that’s when winds are calmest & there are least thermals. That one balloon was a tether, taking customers for a ride 30ish feet up, then back down. It was tied off on three points to keep it safely [del]on[/del] close to the ground. Except for the few special shapes who just stood up & stayed on the field to give the crowd a show, all of the [balloons](https://www.flickr.com/photos/74663312@N08/30015892518/) flew last night, at the scheduled time. I did walk around looking for a wee young 'un in a stroller & **Mooommm** , but you were probably gone by the time I got there. > [@swampbear](#): > > **doggio** enjoy your vacation. Of course he will, he gets to have a beer with me! 🆒 Try ballooning for lack of sleep, get in around 11pm & then have the 'larm set for 4-something…multiple days in a row. --- _[View the full topic](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/off-a-vacation-mmp/819163)._
