There is a new episode of The Office airing right after the Super Bowl. Check your DVRs and make sure it is set to record at this different time. Also, based on past experience with shows that air after football games, you should set your DVR to record past the end. I set mine to record for an hour and a half. ---

I hope the “special guests” are incorporated in the story appropriately. \*\*Jessica Alba’s **one step away from staring in some failed TV series if you ask me, Jack Black is funny but has as many blemishes as hits, and** Cloris Leachman’s \*\*awesome, but her career basically consists of ‘special guest’ parts these days. I’m, a little weary, but I’ve seen some scenes from the episode, and they were very funny. Also \*\*David Wallace \*\*and **Mr. Bob Vance** , (from \*\*‘Vance Refrigeration’ \*\*fame) will show up! ---

The fire thing at the beginning was a bit much. I think what brought it over the edge for me was they brought David into the mix, and if it got all the way up to Corporate, then Dwight and Michael would have been fired. Other than that I thought it was a great episode. I did not feel sorry for Michael during the roast in the least bit. And I thought Pam was adorable during such. “If his penis were an iPod it’d be a shuffle.” ---

Very goofy but funny episode. But that made the serious stuff about Pam’s parents seem really out of place. ---

I thought the roast was pretty good, as well as Michael’s counter-roast (“Boom! Roasted!”) and everybody singing "Staying Alive’ during the CPR scene was good (“Another One Bites the Dust” and “That’s the Way (Uh Huh Uh Huh)” are good CPR time keepers as well). I think Ed Helms is an underrated contributor to the show. I thought the resolution of the Jim/Pam story was contrived and saccharine. I’m getting a little tired of Jim and Pam just being so perfect all the time. The pirated Jack Black movie should have been better than it was. It was a good idea for a storyline, but the fake movie itself was just stupid and implausible. ---

Did you guys watch to the very end of the episode? They included some teaser material from what I assume to be the next episode and surprise, surprise, they’re throwing a pretty big wrinkle into the Pam/Jim relationship. Karen Filippelli is **pregnant**. Complete with Michael stating that he’s trying to figure out the last time that Karen and Jim had sex. This should be interesting. ---
