A lot of people are luckier than me. I’m luckier than a lot of people. It doesn’t burn my balls either way.
Yeah I forgot about the broccoli. Fuck him. I’m keying his car on my way out.
He never buys the crap other workers’ kids have to sell for band camp, but pushes his kids’ stuff on the office. He’s always been a jerk like that.
It’s not a “DICK” move. A DICK move would be to purposely excluding him from the lottery or, getting away from the lottery, do something such as jump ship to another company and intentionally not bringing him along.
Those are examples of intentionally screwing someone over.
If it were a case where everyone put in $500 and he didn’t have the money, or there were legitimate reasons to not participate then it would be more ethical to share some of the money, but this was only $2.00.
People could pitch in and give him some money if they really wanted to, but this isn’t a case of should”.
I voted give him a few thousand. But i’m probably a chump.
Caveat:
This seems to be explicitly NOT the case in the OP. But… if it were a scenario where the office (including Jerry) bought lottery tickets every week for some extended period of time, and for one reason or another Jerry didn’t give his 2 bucks that particular week, i’d vote that he gets an equal share.
