# Official 2016 Election Day Thread: House

Honey had a good idea for the Presidential Election. I thought expanding it to have threads for the Senate and the House would be a good idea since the three things are pretty dissimilar in how they’re liable to behave. So go get 'em, people. Discuss the House elections here.

I’m watching two races.

Indiana 9th – Republican moves to Indiana to run for Congress. The incumbent is running for Senate this time around. The Democratic candidate is an local county council member, an IU professor, and a former Miss Indiana.

Michigan 8th – Republican freshman incumbent in a district that shows as R+6. Melissa Gilbert (from _Little House on the Prairie_) won the Democratic primary, but had to withdraw for health reasons. The Democratic challenger is now local prosecutor Suzanna Shkreli. She’s gotten some endorsements from big name Democrats like Obama, and there’s been a last minute infusion of campaign money on her behalf.
