Then say something like, _I mean after all, there were only 15 of us, and we couldn’t beat him down, and now he’s being, well, you know…mean to me and making me feel bad about myself._ And then, if his opponent wants to compliment someone who has no email address, he comes on and posts a snide compliment to them as well, not by way of issuing a genuine compliment to the recipient but in an effort to chide his opponent for who knows what transgression that is. Then, he pretends to reach a rapproachment with his opponent, but comes on instead a day or two later and makes veiled insults regarding his erstwhile opponent in yet another weak and cowardly display of his impotence as a poster. He belittles his opponent for posting to more than one thread despite the prevalence of many other posters on his side that post ad infinitum and ad nauseum to threads all over the place, and accuses his opponent of seeking attention when his opponent has naught but tried to state his opinion on a board where this is supposedly the idea, and then tried only to defend himself from the numerous (word fail) attempts to portray him and his comments inaccurately or dishonestly. You _could_ do what Hector does, but I wouldn’t recommend it. You’d be a wuss! 😃 ---

Re: Mensa. In my experience, membership in Mensa is not synonymous with intelligence (hell, they let me in). I first joined when I was 16, and then again when I moved to the DC area as a way to meet people, but I found both times that Mensans are for the most part socially inept nerds who use their membership as a justification for their exceedingly boring lives. Frankly, this board gives me all the intelligent conversation I wanted from Mensa for a significantly cheaper fee. I was going to post some snarky comment aboyut **Duffer** ’s blatant attention whoring, but given my post now, that would be just a touch hypocritical of me. In fact, I’ll help the old boy out… Hey everyone, look at Duffer! Duffer! Duffer! Duffer! Duffer! Duffer! Did that feed your ego enough? ---

This was exactly my experience as well, although I never did go to a meeting. One look at the magazine you get as a member was enough for me. What did they call it - the 2% solution. That is, the 2% of the smartest people come up with the solution to some problem or another, if I recall correctly. But my very favorite aspect were the classified ads, which almost always had several from guys offering to sell their sperm so you could have a very smart baby. I may very well be confabulating when I recall that some of the alluded to their preferred method of delivery. ---

Are you aware someone once broke into my house, while I was there, asleep, and in possession of a .38 pistol, and though this person roamed throughout the house for twenty minutes while I kept watch with squinted eyes, and indeed came into my bedroom and bent over me to the degree that his face was no more than a foot from mine, I didn’t shoot him? Why? He was unarmed and didn’t seem a particular threat given that I was armed! And finally after twenty minutes of this and starting to grow sleepy again due to the fact that he didn’t seem to be that much of a threat and that for all I knew there were others as well, I began to get out of bed in order to try to apprehend him/them or perhaps chase him/them off and then leave it to the police to find out who it was since the guy I was watching left fingerprints everywhere.
