Is that Sarah J. Parker, his real life wife, packing the other CR-V when he walks by and says “You have great taste in automobiles”?

I spotted more eggs. As Matthew approaches the parade there’s a girl in the crowd in a white fringe jacket. Similar to Sloan’s (Mia Sara) in the movie. In slo mo the fringe can be seen fluttering in the wind.

Guy in museum with Bueller’s vest. he’s way in the background as Matthew is chased by the kids.

Matthew and Mia in vest and jacket.

Still haven’t spotted either of these. Some of the eggs are very cleverly hidden in the commercial.

> The agent holding a baseball. The walrus is a nod to a line in the movie, “I could be the walrus, I’d still have to bum rides off people.” ‘Grace’ on the phone call in the car. The clarinet, the pineapple drink, the rabbit foot key chain, the white-out on his agent’s desk. Cameron’s Red Wings jersey behind Broderick on the roller-coaster. Broderick reappearing after the ad appears to be over.

The rabbit foot keychain is visible when he’s first driving. It’s partly hidden but you can see it if you look.

Grace’s phone # is a Chicago number (312 area code).

A [version with voice over commentary](http://youtu.be/tKJPCXZ5gDs) has been uploaded. I was hoping that it would have some behind-the-scenes stuff but it’s mostly Broderick (Honda) telling everyone not to hate on it just because it’s not a trailer for a sequel to FBDO.

Ferris had a chair with a horse like the one in the agent’s office, and I think the lamp by the window in the office was also in Ferris’ room.

> Decent concept, complete waste of a commercial. A minivan? That’s the polar opposite of the “don’t let life pass you by” concept in Ferris Bueller. This commercial would have been appropriate for the CR-Z or Civic, but a minivan? What it tells me is that the buyer is a failure, that all their grand plans to live life to the fullest have collapsed in a heap of dirty laundry. They’ve become Cameron instead of Ferris.

> [@ballardfam](#):
>
> I always thought FB was pretty mainstream. In the movie he’s a suburban kid with good grades, has a hot girlfriend, skips school to do generally innocent stuff. Really not a risk taker. He lives life to the fullest within a pretty narrow life.
>
> I can see him in later life taking the same ‘risks’ within his just as narrow current life. Doing so in a cooler car would have mirrored the movie more but I don’t see it an emblematic of anything other than a need to sell automobiles.

> [@corkboard](#):

> What\*\* ballardfam \*_said, plus the demographic the ad is going after is the mid-to-late 40’s folks who were the demographic for_ FBDO \*when it first hit the theatres- basically, me. And I would be more inclined to buy a CR-V at this point in my life, because I have a family and stuff to haul around, but we’ve been able to downsize from a minivan. So the CR-V was the right vehicle for the ad.

I don’t see the commercial as an attempt to show Ferris Bueller as an adult at all. It’s not intended to be _Ferris Bueller_, the fictional character; it’s Matthew Broderick, the real-life actor, winking at the audience by thoroughly referencing one of his best-known roles. The _character_ of Ferris Bueller is not being updated or shown to be grown-up at all. I thought it was well-done and entertaining, even if it in that in-joke referencing kind of way that can sometimes seem too cute.

I was wondering about the horse. Figured it had to be a reference.

Nailed it; an interview with the creators behind the ad confirmed this (also the fact they call him “Matthew” in the ad.)

Loved the whole Walrus close up. Coincidentally the original movie was on one of the cable channels a few weekends ago and I watched it for the first time in a while. Love that movie.

Yeah, that’s what I thought too.

I’m pretty sure that’s not Sarah Jessica Parker whom he compliments for her taste in vehicles.

What does the valet say to him when MB hands him his keys, just before the valet and the panda zoom off?

Look for this upcoming [Inside Story: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off](http://www.biography.com/tv/inside-story/episodes/ferris-buellers-day-off) documentary. Interviews with many of the actors, behind the scenes videos, stories about how the movie was written and made. Very enjoyable for any fan of the movie.
