I don’t think he’s going to inhabit the talk shows the way McCain has ever since his own bad loss. ---

I think despite his desperate efforts to promote and maintain exposure to the Trump brand, interest will rapidly fall off to about the reality-show level of interest that surrounds the Kardashians and Paris Hilton. There will certainly be a subclass of media inclined to exploit that interest, but at least most of us won’t have to be subjected to it on a daily basis. ---

My prediction: He’ll own an Internet-only media property, because a Trump cable network which exists longer than fifteen minutes is a pipe dream in today’s landscape, which will have a devoted fanbase similar to Alex Jones and Infowars, but he’ll go back to being a semi-obscure punchline in the media most of the country pays attention to. I could be wrong. He could end up with a semi-permanent gig on a radio show, especially satellite radio. He might even end up on cable TV as a recurring talking head, but I don’t see how even FOX News could stomach him anymore, given how much he’d cost relative to how little he’d gain. He’s self-marginalizing, and he marginalizes everything he associates with, both in terms of tone and content and in terms of him actively driving off anyone who doesn’t want to be around a stupid, disgusting asshole. Or I could be wrong in the other direction, and he’ll sink to a level of media attention even lower than what he had in the 1990s/early 2000s. He could become a true analog for Alex Jones, which means he and his property are utterly ignored by the mainstream 99.9% of the time and only exist in the fever-swamps of conspiracy theory-friendly fringe media and graffiti plastered on walls in college towns. That’s not D-list; it’s not even Z-list, which is where old flavors-of-the-month usually end up. That’s Omega-list. That’s shit you have to actively seek out or, rarely, stumble upon. ---
