In no particular order, my top ten: **The Vines - Highly Evolved Red Hot Chili Peppers Jurassic Five - Power in Numbers Death Cab For Cutie - The Photo Album** (released in Australia in '02, so it counts for me) \*\*And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - Source Tags and Codes The Streets - Original Pirate Material Machine Gun Fellatio - Paging Mr Strike Chemical Brothers - Come With Us Get Up Kids - On A Wire Kosheen - Resist (Although, to be fair I haven’t yet heard the Godspeed, Sigur Ros, Beck, Wilco, Liars, Beth Gibbons or Ben Kweller albums. In fact, there are still many more reputedly great albums that I haven’t heard. I need more money.) ---

Don’t think I can squeeze out 10 - I did not consider it a very good year. The following were outstanding though: Tori Amos Tom Waits (Alice) Coldplay Beth Orton Peter Gabriel ---

My music purchasing has been way down lately. I just don’t find that much these days that I find more interesting than stuff I already own. I suppose that means I’m getting old. Stuff I did buy and like was: Beck - Sea Change - gorgeous album. Peter Gabriel - Up - meh. I need to listen to it some more, but I found it very tiresome. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - I liked this one a lot Weezer - Maladroit - not bad Badly Drawn Boy - About a Boy - okay I know I must have bought more stuff than that. ---

Somebody already mentioned this, but I feel the need to echo: _Yanqui UXO_ by **godspeed you! black emperor** is phenomenal. And that’s not just because I’m from Montreal. Other than that, the only things I’ve obtained are _Sea Change_ which I thought was killer, and _Bob Dylan Live 1975_, which was definitely very cool. I’m intending to pick up _( )_ by **Sigur Ros** , as well as _Ceux Qui Inventent n’ont Jamais Vécu_ by **Fly Pan Am** and _& Yet & Yet_ by **Do Make Say Think** when I get some cash.
