Hey can anybody explain [Sheela Na Gig](http://www.oglaf.com/sheela/) for me? I don’t get it. Yeah, I do get that there’s really no daughter involved, that she just wants to bonk the soldier, but what’s with the tower? Did she build it? Is it actually there at all, or is it just an image she conjured up for him? And if so, why? why not just tell him she wants to have sex with him? ---

The tower correlates to her body. She wanted him to go through the vagina door so it would be like he’s fucking her. He gets weirded out and asks if there’s a back door and she drops all the pretenses and they do anal. ‘Backdoor’ = anal. ---

Lister was born in 2155, and went to space when he was 24 (2179), and was in stasis for 3 million years (~3,002,179 or so depending on the exact date of stasis entry and when exactly Holly revived him, but we know it was a several year enlistment and voyage). Regardless, Steinbeck has him by somewhere between 210 and 3,000,234 years-ish.
