Just like said-bookisms, some writers get the idea into their heads that the more oblique you are, the better your love scenes will be. The creature probably thinks it is a very clever metaphor, but is actually just deliberately obscure. Even if he explained his appearance everyone would say “Dude, that’s just stupid,” like an Halloween costume fail. ---

I liked the Ivan storyline much more than the recent strips. They’ve not been very funny, IMO. ---

I would guess that a lot of her time has been used up on preparing the new book, so she had to cut back on long ongoing and multi-page storylines for a while. ---
