Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen has been released on Wii Virtual Channel! Here’s a link to a modern review: [Ogre Battle at IGN](http://wii.ign.com/articles/959/959373p1.html).

I’m really wishing that I had access to the VC right now. Being stuck in China is not helping me. I have the Playstation re-release version but I was only able to bring one system with me.

I love the Ogre Battle series, especially Ogre Battle 64 Person of Lordly Caliber. More so than tactical games, I love designing and planning the units, spreading them over the map, creating quick-strike flying units with strong ground units coming up behind, mixing monsters and humans, paying attention to alignment when liberating towns. This is the series I want to see brought into the current generation of hardware. I’m just imagining what the Wii could do using the Wii remote as a pointer to direct units and draw routes for them to take. Or maybe use the processing power of the 360 or PS3 to have units all over the map.

I’m excited and am now counting the days until July for when I return home to download and play it.

I owned a copy of this game on snes that I remember selling in a bundle with 10 other games for 12 dollars. It was too hard for me when I tried it, but I gave it a try on an emulator a few years later and realized just what a big mistake I had made. Ogre Battle is an outstanding game.

Ogre Battle 64 was one of the top five games on the N64 IMO. Excellent game to the point where I might even buy it again if they re-release on VC.

This one, though, I have the PS1 re-release already, which plays just fine on my PS3… 🙂 Very good game though for sure!

ah Ogre Battle.

one of [Matsuno Yasumi](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yasumi_Matsuno)’s best games, if you ask me.

Me and my buddy played this game so many times in college it was absolutely ridiculous (no, I’m not (_that_) old, we just emulated it, hehe)
