I hope the VH1 execs keep tight control over this program. I mean, it’s rare for a talk show to be actively dangerous, but McCarthy’s antivax nonsense actually kills infants. She has every right to speak as she wishes on her own time, but I’d hope the VH1 folks would know better than to give her a soap-box. ---

I have zero interest in this show but if VH1 is looking for their own Chelsea Handler, they sure as hell won’t get it by letting anyone, McCarthy or otherwise, pontificate on the virtues or evils of childhood vaccinations. That’s daytime Oprah style stuff, not late night talk. I assume she’ll be doing the usual opening monologues, perhaps some skits and the standard light celebrity interviews. ---

My understanding is the children who died were too young to have received the whooping cough vaccine, and were exposed to the disease through contact with contagious people. The number of cases of whooping cough in CA at that time were suspected to be related to the loss of herd immunity due to the low rates of vaccination, which CAN be related to Jenny’s “vaccines are poison!” statements. Giving this vapid waste of space her own show is simply giving her a more public stage on which to prattle her non-scientific woo. ---
