[/QUOTE] You _could_ consider labelling a number something like “brother”, “wife”, “home” etc, for just in case you are ever discovered in a car crash or something. Sorry, that’s a bit of a depressing thought, though. 🙂 oops. Ah, wait, now, I’ve just realised I don’t take my own advice there - parents, for instance are not obviously labelled because I would not want them worried. Ah, just ignore me. As you were. 🙂 I _think_ I’ve got my home number landline labelled “self” or “home”, but I suppose that would only work if it was found by a honest person. Sometimes it’s a relief only using a cheap “pay as you go” 'phone - less to worry about. I think I’ve only ever lost the thing in my home, though. So far. 😃 ---

I’ve heard of programming ICE (In Case of Emergency) for the cops to call someone in case you’re hurt. ---

That seems to be what’s recommended. I’ve put that into my PDA, but not my cell phone yet. On the other hand, right now the cell phone only has one number programmed into it, which does narrow down the options. ---

I just cancelled my cell phone yesterday, as I never used it, paying $40 a month for a device that I never use made no sense my replacement “phone” is much harder to misplace, as it’s not exactly pocket-freindly and weighs about 2,700 pounds, it has a _great_ driving game in it though, very realistic graphics and an incredibly accurate physics model… yep, my car, specifically the OnStar phone thingy, since I never use the phone, the “prepaid” setup that the OnStar service uses makes a lot more sense, heck, I’ve had the car for a little over the month and I’ve used the phone maybe four times, I really hate phones plus, this “phone” is almost impossible to misplace… 😉 ---

Perhaps life was simpler without the things. ---

I don’t have a “Home” number on my cell phone, since I haven’t had a land line in years. The one time I forgot my cell phone at work, the nice lady in the cubicle next to mine found it on my desk and left it in my top desk drawer so the cleaning people wouldn’t take it. ---

Fortunately, I found it right where I had left it-on the back counter at work. Unfortunately, I left it on, so it took about four hours or so to recharge. But…I’m getting a new phone this week, so it’s all good. ---

Worst thing that ever happened to a cell phone I owned? I had this big plastic bowl, a weird freebee from a trade show, and it was oddly shaped, didnt fit in my cupboard properly. So I had it on the counter, threw work ID tags, keys, pens, stuff like that in it at the end of the day. Also my cell phone. I also would plug it in to charge it, and leave it in the bowl. I have a son, he was two at the time…got up… Im not sure…half an hour before me? Likes to crawl and climb up into the cubboards in search of treats. Knocked over the vinegar shaker. Vinegar into bowl. Plugged in cell phone in bowl. I was up for a while before I wandered into the kitchen. Smells like pickles, thought I… Touched the bowl… hot… Yes I had an electronic device with current running into a bowl of warm acidic solution. Lucky there was no fire. But I had to pay for a new phone… and that was only 3 weeks into the contract. I hadn’t even recieved my first bill. I charge my current cell in my bedroom.
