# Oh give me a fucking break. Duhbya's military records.

Yeah, I have these things too. But do you have your LES’s (leave and earning statement) from every pay period you were in?

That’s what Bush’s opponents are asking for. I certainly didn’t keep mine, and I don’t know many veterans anal retentive enopugh to keep theirs for better than thirty years.

Okay, as someone who has never served in the military…

Did you guys get paid with, you know, checks?

When checks are cashed or deposited, there are records, correct?

So…putting two and two together, what should we get?

Have you ever tried cashing a paycheck in the middle of a war zone?

Military pay is a science, art, and major fuckup all of its own. It involves allotments, payments to dependments, cash disbursements by paymasters, and a whole raft of other things.

This could be dealt with in a thread of its own.

In other words, no, it’s not quite that simple.
