Oh God- Anchor straight reads racist joke names of Asiana pilots

They’re simply trying to divert attention around it.

Next on KTVU: Asiana airlines lawsuit represented by attorneys Wi Su Yoo and Mo Ka Ching…

The airline will have to show in court that the news report caused damage to their reputation.
Now since after the crash their reputation is slightly lower than whale shit, this would be a fun case to watch.
I think someone should tell them they are in a hole and they should stop digging.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who is entertained by this lawsuit.

An intern filled in the names as a lark and probably thought someone else would check. Maybe everyone who touched it later was too busy to actually read it or thought someone else had/would verified the story?

The names tell a story.

Captain. Somthing wrong. We’re too low. Holy fuck! and then the plane hits the seawall. Bang! Ding! Ouch.

“Captain Sum Ting Wong,” “Wi Tu Lo,” “Ho Lee Fuk” and “Bang Ding Ow”.

From that famous law firm Dewey, Cheatem & Howe.

Hey, I’m trying to eat my lunch without choking here!

Ah, hence the phrase “entertaining a lawsuit.”

NTSB Fired the Intern who Confirmed Fake Asiana Pilot Names

The intern’s name is Jo King right?

Maybe Les Job Offers? :dubious:

Seriously, I’m surprised that this intern’s name hasn’t been revealed yet.

Also, since I think internships at places as prestigious as the NTSB are probably difficult to get, I suspect that whoever hired him/her may get some annoyed looks.

When I was in college we got internships in hopes it would help us get a job after graduation. I guess that wasn’t the case here.

Privacy issues, I bet.

I see a battle for talk show placement. “Tonight! The intern who fooled the TV station tells all!”

Thats not racist. That was funny. I feel bad that they are getting sued.

Probably Bang Kok Aw would have worked better

the colbert report as well as the daily show had humourous bits on the names. colbert also mentioned that the names were clearly chinese not korean, and suggested other names.

So, you think more “mainstream” media would have done a better job?>
Maybe so… I’m sure Peter Jennings of ***ABC World News ***would NEVER have been fooled by a Howard Stern fan who called in with a blatantly phony “Amos and Andy” black accent, claiming to be witnessing OJ Simpson in his white Bronco.

Wahoo…Werewolves of Bryn Mawr.

I was beginning to wonder if there were any Warren Zevon fans around here.

There wolves of Bryn Mawr”
