Oh Goody! Mitt Romney Is Coming Back!

Whether it’s Romney or not, the GOP Donor Class HAS to be thinking by now that Jeb can’t get it done, and that they have to find another country club Fortune 500 Republican to rally behind.

So, who IS there? I have a hard time believing the business wing of the Party wouldn’t have someone else in mind as Plan B.

Sure, but those were the same guys who figured that Jeb! could clinch the nomination in the first few weeks by sucking up all the money/oxygen in the room. I’m thinking that they are still under the delusion that they are running things, Party wise. Some of them have caught on by now, but did they ever have a Plan B?

Meanwhile, Mittens waits by the phone. What smooth beast, his hour come round again, sleazes towards Washington to be born…?

Actually, they are in charge, officially, they’ve got the offices and the plaques on the doors that say they are in charge. But they can’t get to 50 percent plus one without the support of the knuckle-walking Trogs. We live in interesting times…

I’m pretty sure that the Plan B candidate is Rubio.

Rubio may be Plan B, but they may need a Plan C once the quitter stuff takes hold.

Wait. Does this mean if we remember and Romney’s NOT the nominee you’ll wear a hair shirt or vote Republican as a form of penance?

Well, wool is hair, so, sure! As for the other, would a steaming bowl of Icelandic fermented shark do as well? And I solemnly promise to publicly admit I was wrong, but that’s mostly to keep the Avenging Angel of Unconfessed Error off my back.

Or, speaking of wooly things, you could wear Trump’s toupee. In public. With a pic on Facebook.

Somehow I think I’m going to see a few of those this Halloween.

I still maintain his best chance will be as the back-half of a Trump-Romney ticket ( after the main preference of a Clownpiece presidency of course — ‘East or West, Clownpiece is Best !’ ). He needs the wise guidance of Trump to tone down that Mormon exuberant vulgarity and think things through. Like a wise older brother * patting him on the shoulder with friendly knowledgeable advice.

However, if he’s willing to wave a rifle at the next convention, denounce those Nancy-boys of Washington and the Eastern Establishment, promise to burn all those pesky regulations they churned out, and stop funding welfare and all government expenditure, he should lock in the vital elderly mentally retarded vote that sways many an election.

Trump — Romney 2016 ! ( after Clownpiece )

  • Actually this is rather the way Mormons think of the Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ, Second Person of the Trinity and Very God of Very God.

No doubt the inevitable tell-all book about the backstage draft-Romney machinations will be titled The Forty-Seven Percent Solution.

It would make an interesting merkin…

It looks like parts of the GOP Establishment are going, “Help me, Mittster, you’re our only hope.

As I’ve said before, I don’t think Mitt’s interested in having to fight for something that he feels should be handed to him. If nobody comes out of the primaries with enough delegates for a first-ballot win, I’m sure Mitt would accept being drafted as the nominee, and might even do some behind-the-scenes maneuvering to help make it happen. But he’s not going to campaign in the primaries.

Can someone please pass the brain bleach?

And that’s why FiveThirtyEight had an article on it. It says his best bet would be under chaos theory–not to get to actually get Romney elected, but maybe to shake things up and hope that it reshuffles the cards, as it were.

Bottom line: the GOP business class will back Hillary enthusiastically, if any non-establishment candidate wins the GOP nomination.

His best bet is to remain on the sidelines, and hope no one comes out of primary season with enough delegates for a first-ballot win.

The chance of that happening is still pretty small, but if it were to happen, Mitt’s chances would be pretty good.

The more interesting question would be whom Wall Street would back if it were, say, Sanders vs. Trump, or Carson. They might count on the Republican being easier to control, but on the other hand, a nation under either of them would be a lot less stable, and that’s bad for business.

It’s been increasingly plain for many years that the Dems are better for the economy. But the business community clearly prefers the party that gives them greater power over the labor force. There’s not a chance that they would take Sanders over Trump. They’d probably stay neutral in Hillary v. Trump, but only because Trump’s so clearly unprepared. Carson might be their breaking point - not only unprepared, but batshit crazy too.

I’m back from church. However, Mitt Romney endorsed John McCain for reelection to the Senate, in 2016. McCain has held that seat since 1986. Romney spoke yesterday at a powerful rally in Arizona for McCain in Mesa, Ariz., in one of the most powerful GOP rallies in a long time. Romney said he has no plans to run for president in 2016, and he will look at other choices that the GOP has to offer. I can still see the Republicans forcing Romney to make a run for president by the Spring (April-May).

Conventional political backrubbing=powerful lol.

I certainly hope the GOP forces Romney to run and have him cheat Trump out of the nomination-that way Hillary can have her 45-state sweep.

Hey, it was powerful! That’s almost as good as huge!!
