Just the other day I was flipping around the channels and came across Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, a show that I have not watched for many years. So there was Mr. R in an art museum looking at paintings with the guide and then they went back to the land of make believe and as King Friday was talking it suddenly occured to me that ‘Hey! That’s Mr. Rogers doing his voice!’
I was totally astounded.
Lyllyan started her reply with ‘OTOH’.
Reminds me of when my sister didn’t get John Schneider’s (sp?) song ‘On The Other Hand.’ It’s about a guy who would have a fling with a girl if, on the other hand, there wasn’t a wedding ring. But then I didn’t get ‘If I Said You Have A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me’ at first either.
HA!
From the Songs that Are About Sex Department: Actually, this is a rather overt one. I first heard the Les Miserables album when I was ten (and before I ever saw the show) and it took me a while to figure out what, exactly, was going on in the song “Lovely Ladies.” I knew they were selling something, but I couldn’t tell what…
FWIW, “On The Other Hand” is by Randy Travis.
This is a little tricky to explain in writing, so I’ll have to spell one crucial word phonetically. I saw a guy at work the other day wearing his ID badge on a lanyard around his neck. There was something embroidered over & over on the lanyard. At a glance I made out a fairly common Hispanic name that’s pronounced “HEY-soos.” I thought to myself, “Funny, I thought that guy’s name was Vince.” So I glance closer and it sez “I [heart symbol] HEY-soos.” Wow, I think, I didn’t know Vince was gay.
Then …
Oooohhhh.
I’ve been in San Antonio too long.
