OH! MIGHTY CECIL! " Plastic Swords"

Is that because cherries and pineapples come during the rainy season? Or is the umbrella really a parasol, to protect you from the tropical sun?

Ain’t necessarily saying much.

This does not actually answer my question about swords.

Now, this is slightly more helpful.

But where & when did our little, drunken Excaliburs get started?

I have it on good authority (no link) that cocktail swords were spotted during the 1970s.

Also, Wikipedia has an entry on Cocktail stick, “…usually used as a skewer for holding decorations (such as cherries) in cocktails and also for serving food (such as small “cocktail” sausages or diced cheese and pineapple) at parties.”

Lego purchased its first plastic injection-molding machine in 1947. So I’d guess the plastic swords were first made available during the 1950s. History of Lego: Everyone's Favorite Building Blocks

So, if you can manage to pull one of those swords out of an olive, do you become King?

No, you just remain drinKing.
