Nope, no coma. I gave her flowers and invited her to the opening of a play. (I think the play was on the 21st, a week later, remember this is on the 14th.) She said yes so I made the reservations. Then a couple days later she asked if I could get a third ticket so she could bring a date. ---

yeah **jools** , it’s sick isnt it? i just dont see why people cant just state their objectives clearly. my heart has been broken twice by girls pulling this sort of crap and i’m only 18! the last time only happened about 6 weeks ago too… ---

I’m sorry to hear that **Plankspanker**. Most people are guilty of that at one point or another but you’d figure the older you get, the less time you have to loose with games and just be honest with your feelings. I think, I am supposing here not knowing the man but I think that **Davebear** would’ve stuck around if she had just called back and said can we take it slow I’m not sure or I’m really busy these days… or just called and said thanks but no thanks… how much would it have taken her??? ---

Sorry for the delayed response, I’ve been tangled in the curtains here…haven’t y’all heard of venetian blinds? Thanks for the nice compliments on the name, **Dave**. **LilyoftheValley** has a much better ring to it than **LilyoftheMerrimackValley** , which is what I really am. I’m glad to know Theresa is from Mississippi…but how one would go from there to Hampton Beach of all places I’ll never understand. And I do indeed have many pairs of boots. Shall I wear the steel-toed ones? Hey **RobotArm** …if I come to the Dopefest, can I get some pool tips? Even if I’m kind of a **tanookie** – married and pregnant!? Unfortunately, I live in one of those towns where the average resident is a 37-year old married person with 2.5 kids. (For the record, I am outside the typical demographic.) My hobbies also seem to be male-dominated. So I don’t meet a whole lot of single women. But I have great sympathy for single men, as I seem to meet them everywhere. But I will keep my eyes peeled for prospects, if merely because I want other cool people like y’all to come up to my area. ---

Wow Lily seems we have a lot in common 🙂 Is this your first munchkin? It seems the part of the Merrimack Valley where we’ve moved the demographic is retired and in love with their lawn ☹ I miss my fun friends (who all fled for other states) as everyone here my age with little kids seems to be boring as all get out! Not that I’m a big party girl but - good lord. ---

Heck, anyone who’s read this thread from start to finish knows me pretty well. I always hear women complaining that men don’t call. I guess it works both ways. It’s a first, for me, though. So, yes, any of those options would have been preferable. It was the uncertainty that was truly torturous. So, **jools** , _when_ did you say you and your friend were going to be hitting Boston? I just discovered a pub that has live music that I think you would like, every night. It used to be easier to learn that lesson because, if you were a dick, everyone you knew heard about it and _called you on it._ Now, if someone feels guilty for their behavior (rare enough, in itself), their friends rush to soothe them. And unfortunately, my steel-toed boots are construction worker boots from my days as a 24-year-old female site boss. :eek: They’re pretty experienced at kicking male butt, even without the spike heels, though. 😉 ---

You know, I first opened this thread, because I thought “Oh my freaking god” by **Davebear**? BUT the university here is reknowned for engineering, so most of those students are kinda nerdy and there are not nearly enough women. In my field, I started out with 300 people. Of those we had 10 women, however you had to mention that it actually were women with 9 of the 10. And the only cute one was weeded out by exams in the third semester. _sigh_ I am always glad to visit my hometown (500,000 inhabitants and a healthy 50-50 demographic) on the weekends and can’t wait to finish studying next year.
